In my previous position as Sr. Application Developer for Mississippi Interactive, LLC (a subsidiary of NIC USA), my responsibilities included maintaining ms.gov | The Official website of the State of Mississippi, developing functional elements for state agency websites, and developing e-commerce, reporting and utility applications for state agencies. Our primary goal was to provide the citizens of Mississippi with the convenience of interacting with their government online. Our solutions ran the gamut from providing valuable information to enabling online license and permit renewals.

Transparency Mississippi is a publicy accessible collection of reports regarding state government expenditures and revenue. There are 120+ reports available in three different formats: web-page, print-friendly HTML, and Microsoft Excel.

MS Ready

MS Ready is an emergency preparedness mobile app for iOS and Android. I built the Android version while another developer built the iOS version. It includes an admin application from which push notications and SMS text messages can be dispatched to mobile devices as well as emails. Mobile users are allowed to opt-in for these services after downloading and installing the app to their respective devices.

MS Buzz is a social media aggregator which utilizes Yahoo! Pipes to combine RSS feeds from Facebook, Youtube, and other publicly available feeds. It also utilizes the Flickr API to generate an image gallery consisting of the most recent public contributions to the state's offical photo album.

MDOT Payment Portal is a custom application that allows the Mississippi Department of Transporation to process credit card payments in-office for the various licenses and permits they're commissioned to issue. This application was specifically build to support credit card swipe devices.

This is a full-fledged shopping cart which allows the Mississippi Fire Academy to make branded merchandise available to the general public. It includes a complete checkout/electronic payment process and product placement/ranking and inventory management functionality for administrators.

The Account Management Control Panel application provides a user-interface for performing common actions against active directory via LDAP queries. Available actions depend on one's security level and, as a result, most users are only able to change or reset their own passwords. The highest security level allows creation of user accounts and management of both user accounts and security group memberships.
